Chemical delivery and dosing systems (CDS)
Syntech Engineering designs and builds chemical delivery and dosing systems (CDS): plants that draw concentrated acids and chemicals directly from commercial drums and transfer them safely to the point of use, in the quantity and at the temperature required by the process.

The problem: handling concentrated acids safely
Hydrofluoric, nitric, hydrochloric, acetic acid: handling concentrated chemicals manually exposes operators to chemical risks and the process to dosing errors and contamination. A CDS system eliminates direct handling: drum transfer, intermediate storage, dosing and delivery to the users take place in a closed circuit, automatically managed and monitored at every point.
Inside a CDS system
Each system is custom designed for the customer’s chemicals and process. The typical layout includes an outdoor drum pick-up unit and an indoor storage and dosing unit, connected by dedicated lines.
Outdoor drum pick-up unit
Located next to the drum storage area, it draws the chemicals from commercial drums with pneumatic pumps dedicated to each acid. Drum presence and drum empty sensors manage the sequence; a sensor on the collection pipe detects any leak and stops the unit.
Storage and dosing
The indoor unit houses PP-clad PFA reserve tanks with two sets of levels, working and safety, duty and stand-by pumps with isolation valves for maintenance without stopping the system, and flow meters housed in a sealed, nitrogen-purged compartment.
Chemical temperature control
Where the process requires it, Teflon-coated heaters warm the chemicals up to the set point entered on the operator panel, while a water-fed PFA coil provides cooling.
Operator safety
The polypropylene cabinets are kept under extraction; the access doors have safety locks that open only on request from the panel and with the extraction running. The instrument compartments are arranged for nitrogen purging and leak sensors stop the system.
Automation and control
All sequences are managed by a PLC with a touch screen panel: mixture selection, dosing, alarms and diagnostics. The systems are arranged for supervision and remote management.
Materials
All wetted parts are made of PP, PFA and PVDF, with stainless steel frames; certified PFA piping is installed in clean rooms as well.
The product family
The range includes CDS multi-acid distribution modules feeding the process lines, SDA dispensing systems for acids and solutions, from 10% hydrochloric acid to 80% acetic acid, LDA transfer lines and weighing modules for concentrated acids. Each system comes with manuals, drawings and CE declaration of conformity, with documented piping tests.
Industries and applications
These systems are at work in semiconductor and microelectronics production and in the chemical-pharmaceutical industry, wherever concentrated acids and chemicals must reach the process in a repeatable, safe way. The same technology applies to electroplating and surface treatment.
